2018 Annual Report

Each year we find ourselves amazed at the caliber of youth from the Rogers County 4-H and FFA programs who exhibit at the Rogers County Fair. Working in collaboration with the County Fair Board, the Rogers County Premium Auction Committee (RCPAC) organizes the premium sale honoring the hard work of the top livestock exhibitors.

The RCPAC Annual Meeting occurs each February. This letter shares with you the financial summary presented at our meeting. We would like to thank you for supporting the Premium Sale and the young exhibitors who are the future of agriculture in Rogers County.

Each sale participant receives a detailed statement showing their ring bid, their add-on donations, and their deductions. A 4% commission is deducted from each participant's check which goes to the general fund. This total for 2018 was $8453.80. Additionally, a $26 fee for photographs of each participant + their buyer is also deducted.

The general fund covers all of the expenses the RCPAC incurs in conducting the sale and operating the organization. In 2018, general fund support to sale participants was $9050.00 (4.3%); our operating expenses were $6346.51 (3%). There is a PDF copy of the annual report available below.

By supporting the 4-H and FFA youth exhibitors involved in the Premium Sale, these contributors are making future livestock projects and educational goals possible for the agricultural youth in Rogers County. About the Rogers County Premium Auction

The top 15 market steers, 15 market lambs, 15 barrows and 5 market goats from the Rogers County Fair species shows make the premium sale. Along with the market animals 30% of breeding animals for beef, sheep, swine and goats are included in the auction. The Grand and reserve grand dairy heifers are also included. The premium sale takes place the Monday following the Rogers County Fall Fair at 7 pm.

Businesses and individuals who would like to contribute are invited to come to the premium sale to bid on the animals. If you would like to donate at a smaller amount you can always add-on an amount of your choosing.

About the Showmanship Scholarship Program

The showmanship scholarship program is offered through the Rogers County Premium Auction and fully sponsored by Rogers State University. The program awards a 4-year scholarship for tuition for the top Senior Showmanship winner in each of the species (beef cattle, swine, sheep, goats, and dairy cattle).

Scholarships are valued at $4,000 each; $20,000 in scholarships are awarded by Rogers State University each year. The scholarship program started in 2008.
